Sharpes of Aberdeen | Salmon Gye Net 28"x21"
First designed in 1928, the original Gye net has stood the test of time and many anglers would agree has never been beaten.
Carried over your back, to use it, just release the peel sling and the net head will fall down making the operation just one handed.
The sliding handle and 24" or 27" dia, net frame are constructed from high tensile aluminium, with a cast alloy powder coated block.
It is supplied with a leather peel sling and a high quality Sharpe's knotless net bag (Code HSH-KL8), with 3" (80mm) square meshes that is approximately 36" deep, as shown in the photograph.
We often learn that these have been passed down from each generation!
The Gye nets are some of the most popular sizes and capable of holding fish up to 27/28 lbs; one has been recorded at 30 lbs, but assistance was needed
